Grapes are a fruit – botanically, a berry – that grow in bunches on woody vines. There are many different varieties of Green Grapes available through late summer and autumn, including Thomspon Grapes, and smaller, sweeter Sultana Grapes. Green Grapes (sometimes called white grapes) have a creamy green skin and flesh, with a crisp texture, and deliciously sweet flavour.
Grapes are known for their powerful antioxidant phytonutrients – particularly resveratrol – which are believed to contribute to longevity of life.
Grapes should be kept chilled, so be sure to store them in your fridge, and consume while they’re still fresh and crisp. Wash right before eating, and enjoy them straight off the bunch as a snack, or as a delicious addition to cheese platters and salads.
